A new addition to Japanese Motorsports is the new "MODIS TALK" by SNAPON. Modis is a computer that "talks" to your cars ECU to diagnose problems. MODIS is a 5 gas analyzer, which is the same type of tool used by any 'State Licensed' testing center. If you fail your test, this tool will diagnose the problem area. Since emissions testing has new requirements that have become much more strict, it's a lot easier to fail.

OBDII and Two Speed Idle Testing
OBDII stands for On Board Diagnostics-Second Generation. It is a computerized system on 1996 and newer cars which monitors emissions-related components and their systems to ensure all systems are operating within the specified ranges. MODIS works by using a component that plugs directly into the vehicles computer to determine if the emissions system and their components are working properly. If there is a problem, MODIS will detect the problem, and our technicians can repair it.
If you fail, you get 15 days to repair the reported item that caused the failure before the test will cost you $28.50 again.
